Wills Leads Field in Second Debate
Focuses on jobs, legislative achievements and Democratic victory
Conway, May 4th 2010 – In the second official debate for the Arkansas Second District Democratic Primary Speaker Robbie Wills once again drew most of the attention from the other candidates. “Speaker Robbie Wills clearly demonstrated why he is the front runner. He showed Arkansas why he is ready to lead. He kept this debate focused on Arkansans, not the distractions of DC style bickering.” said Wills for Congress Campaign Manager Kyle Gott.
Speaker Robbie Wills got the night’s largest round of applause by calling for a focus on jobs and party solidarity. “Tonight there are 100,000 Arkansans out looking for work. Our people are hurting or scared. People want a member of congress who is one of us, who understands us and will fight for us. I am one of you. I understand you. I will fight for you. It is important that we conduct ourselves in a way where we can unite and win in November.” said Speaker Robbie Wills.
The debate was held before a crowd of over 100 at UCA’s Ida Waldran auditorium. Wills was greeted by a group of 70 supporters on the steps of Main Hall. This was the most dynamic debate to date with a number of spirited exchanges on issues ranging from energy to health care.
“Congress needs a leader and a statesman like Speaker Robbie Wills now more than ever. He was the only candidate who kept the focus of this debate where it should be, on out of work Arkansans and the party’s success in November.” said Gott.
